The geo grid
How the grid covers your service area
LPagery centres a square grid of points on your business address and stretches it to the edge of your service radius. From every point, it searches Google Maps for your keyword as if someone were searching from that spot.

The free check and service areas up to 3 km use 5 by 5 points. On a paid plan, a radius over 3 km gets 7 by 7, so the points stay close together as your area grows.

50 results deep at every point
At each point, LPagery reads the first 50 Google Maps results and looks for your listing in them. If you're further down or missing, the pin shows 50+.
The numbers under each grid
- Avg Rank
- Your average position across all points. Points where you don't appear count as 50.
- Rank Distribution
- How many points fall into 1–3, 4–7, 8+ and 50+.
- Area Coverage
- The share of points where you appear in the first 50 results.
- Local Map Visibility
- A score from 0 to 100 on the Overview. Half comes from your average rank and half from how often you're in the top 3.

Track a keyword in each market you serve, picked from the cities inside your radius. LPagery asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode prompts that name the city. The keyword page then lists every market with its AI score, mention trend and Maps rank.

Set up your area once, then check back every week

Set up your business as Local
Enter your website. LPagery reads your address from it, and you choose Local, confirm the address and set how far you serve customers, from 1 to 100 km or miles.

Pick the keywords to track
List the services you offer, and LPagery suggests keywords from them. Every keyword you track gets its own grid, centred on your address.

Add the cities you serve
Track each keyword in more markets, picked from the cities inside your radius. Your first market comes with the keyword, and each extra market uses a keyword slot.

Read the results every week
The Google Maps page shows your grids and rivals, and each keyword page shows the AI score for every city. LPagery runs every check again each week.

Questions about local rank tracking
- What does a local rank tracker do?
It shows where your business ranks for a keyword in different parts of your area. Google Maps results depend on where someone searches from, so LPagery searches from a grid of points around your address and records your position at each one. It also checks whether AI assistants name you when someone asks about each city you serve.
- How big is the grid?
The grid is centred on your business address and reaches as far as your service radius in every direction. The free check always uses 5 by 5 points. On a paid plan, a radius up to 3 km keeps 5 by 5, and a wider radius gets 7 by 7, so 49 points.
- How often does LPagery check my Google Maps rank?
Once a week. LPagery scans the grid of every keyword you track every seven days, and the Google Maps page shows when the last check ran and when the next one is due. Your AI prompts are re-checked weekly too, spread over the week.
- Which businesses get a Google Maps grid?
Websites set up as Local, with an address and a service radius. If you choose National or Global / Online during setup, LPagery tracks your AI visibility without a Maps grid.
- Does tracking a keyword in more cities cost extra?
Each tracked keyword uses one keyword slot and includes its first market. Every extra market uses another slot. Starter includes 10 keywords, Pro 25 and Agency 50.
- Can I change my address or service radius later?
Yes. On the Google Maps page, Configure grid takes you to your website's area settings. When you save a new address or radius, LPagery builds a new grid and scans it again for every keyword you track.
- How is this different from the free Google Maps rank checker?
The free checker scans one keyword once, on 25 points, without an account. The Local Rank Tracker scans every keyword you track each week and shows how your score moves from one scan to the next. It also adds Maps rivals and your AI visibility in each city.
