Settings in your sheet

Every page's settings, one row each

Add columns like lpagery_parent, lpagery_status and lpagery_categories to your source file. LPagery reads them for each row, so every page gets its own URL, parent page, status and categories in the same run.

Works with CSV, Excel and Google Sheets.

What you get

One run, a different setup for every page

Give each page its own URL and parent page

Put the slug for each page in a column and set the URL Slug to {slug}. Add lpagery_parent with the parent's slug, page ID or URL, and each page lands under its own parent. An empty cell uses the Parent Page from the Create screen.

Slug from any column, parent by slug, ID or URL

Publish, draft or schedule each page

Use lpagery_status for publish, draft, private or future, lpagery_publish_date for the date, and lpagery_author for the author's user ID, email or username. Publish some pages now, keep others as drafts and schedule the rest.

Status, publish date and author per row

Sort each page into its own categories

Add lpagery_categories or lpagery_tags, with > for a subcategory and | for one more. Custom taxonomies work the same way with lpagery_taxonomy_ plus the taxonomy name. LPagery creates the terms that don't exist yet.

How LPagery sorts pages into categories and tags

Categories, tags and custom taxonomies per row

Build different pages from different templates

Add lpagery_template with the slug, ID or URL of another template page. Rows with a value are built from that template, empty rows from the Template Page on the Create screen.

One template per row, in the same run

How it works

Set it up in your source file

  1. 1

    Add the settings columns

Add a column for each setting you want to change per page, like lpagery_parent or lpagery_status. Leave a cell empty and that page uses the value from the Create screen.

  2. 2

Pick the defaults on the Create screen

Choose your template page and the settings every other page gets. For a slug per row, set the URL Slug to the placeholder of your slug column, like {slug}.

  3. 3

    Check and create

The Confirm Creation screen shows each page's slug, parent page, status and categories before anything is created. With Google Sheet Sync, a changed cell updates its page on the next sync.

Questions about settings in your sheet

What happens when a cell is empty?

That page uses the setting from the Create screen. You can set a default for the whole run there and change it only for the rows that need something else.

How do I give every page its own slug?

Add a column with the slugs, for example slug, and enter {slug} as the URL Slug on the Create screen. You can also mix it with other placeholders, like {service}-{slug}.

Can I use placeholders in the settings columns?

Yes. LPagery fills placeholders in lpagery_parent, lpagery_template and the taxonomy columns before it looks up the page or term, so Services>{service} or {city} works.

What if LPagery can't find the parent page or template?

LPagery falls back to the Parent Page or Template Page from the Create screen. The Confirm Creation screen shows a crossed-out circle for every value it can't find, so you can fix the cell before you create the pages.

Can I skip some rows?

Yes. Add a lpagery_ignore column and enter true in the rows you want to skip. LPagery leaves those rows out of the run and keeps them in your file.

Can I change a setting after the pages exist?

Yes. Change the cell in your source file and update the page set, and LPagery applies the new value to every page whose row changed. With Google Sheet Sync and Sync Page Updates turned on, this happens on the next sync.

Which plan do I need?

The URL Slug field, and with it a slug column, comes with every paid plan. The lpagery_ columns for parent page, status, publish date, author, template, content and taxonomies need Extended or Ultimate.
