Interlinking

Every page links to its related pages, from one shortcode

Build a view once and paste its shortcode into your template page. Every page LPagery creates then lists the pages that belong with it, like the other services in the same city.

Part of the Extended and Ultimate plans.

What you get

Visitors and search engines find the rest of your pages

Build the related-pages block once, with a live preview

In the Views tab you pick what related pages have in common, like the city, and choose a grid or a list. The preview shows the cards a visitor will see. Change the view later and every page that shows it changes with it.

Grid or list, your own order, pagination and a result count

Lead visitors from one page to the next

Add a next link to your template, and every page points to the next page in its set. With circle turned on, the last page links back to the first. On Classic Mode pages, you can also link to one specific page by its slug, taken from a column in your spreadsheet.

FIRST, LAST, NEXT and PREV, or any page by its slug

A service area page that lists every page

Put a view that shows all pages in the set on a hub page or your homepage. Pages you add later through an update or Google Sheet Sync show up in the list on their own.

Up to 1,000 pages per list, split into numbered pages

How it works

Set it up once, on your template page

  1. 1

    Create a view

Open the Views tab, choose your page set and pick the column related pages share, like {city}. Then click Create view.

  2. 2

Paste the shortcode into your template

Copy [lpagery_view id="3"] from the Views list and paste it where the links should appear, for example under a heading like "Other services in {city}".

  3. 3

    Update your pages

Run an update so your pages get the shortcode. Each page reads its own {city} and leaves itself out of its list.

A plain list works in the free plugin

The shortcode [lpagery_urls id="…"] prints every published page of a page set as a simple linked list, and it works in every version of LPagery. Views add the matching, the cards, the order and the pagination.

Questions about interlinking

Which plan do I need?

Building views and the [lpagery_link] shortcode need the Extended or Ultimate plan. The plain list shortcode [lpagery_urls] works in every version, including the free plugin.

What happens to my links if my license runs out?

Views you've built keep showing on your pages, and you can still see them in the Views tab. You need an active license to create or edit a view. Links from [lpagery_link] keep working on pages you created with LPagery Pro.

Do I have to update my pages when I change a view?

No. The view's settings are saved in the Views tab, so a new layout, order or column shows up on every page that has its shortcode. You only run an update to add the shortcode to pages that already exist.

Can I show related pages on my homepage or a hub page?

Yes. A view set to "All pages in this set" works on any page. A view that matches a value needs that value on pages LPagery didn't create, so you add it yourself, like [lpagery_view id="3" value="Brooklyn"].

Can drafts or deleted pages end up in the links?

No. Views and [lpagery_link] only point at published pages, so a visitor never lands on a draft or a page in the trash. A page never appears in its own list either.

Can each page link to one specific page?

Yes. Add a column like link_to with the target page's slug to your spreadsheet, then use [lpagery_link slug="{link_to}"] in the template. This works on Classic Mode pages. The link text is the target page's title, or your own text if you add title="…".

Link every page to the pages around it
