Flexible templates

Design one page and every generated page follows it

Any page on your site can be the template. Put placeholders like {city} wherever the text should change, in the editor or page builder you already use. LPagery creates one page per row with the same design and fills in that row's data.

Works with Elementor, Divi, Bricks, Breakdance, Gutenberg and most other page builders.

What you get

Your design, on every page you create

Keep the page builder you already use

Build the template in Elementor, Divi, Bricks, Breakdance, Gutenberg or the classic editor, with any layout you like. LPagery copies the builder's layout to every page and fills the placeholders inside its headings, buttons, links and other widgets.

Tested with Elementor, Divi, Bricks, Breakdance, Beaver Builder, WPBakery and more

Change the design once and every page follows

Edit the template page and save it. One update run applies the new look to every page created from it. In Live Mode (beta) there is no run at all: each page shows the change as soon as you save the template.

Give some pages a template of their own

Add an lpagery_template column to your source file and enter the slug, ID or URL of another template page. Rows with a value use that template, and the rest use the one you picked on the Create screen.

One extra column, set per row

How it works

Turn any page into a template in three steps

  1. 1

    Build your template page

Create a normal page in your editor or page builder and write placeholders where the text should change, like "Your {service} Partner in {city}".

  2. 2

Pick it on the Create screen

Select it under Template Page and add your source file, with one column for each placeholder, like city and service.

  3. 3

    Create your pages

LPagery creates one page per row with the template's design and fills in every placeholder from that row.

Placeholders work anywhere on the page

LPagery fills them everywhere the template stores text, so you can write them wherever a page should differ.

  • Page title and URL slug
  • Text, headings and buttons
  • Links and button URLs
  • Page builder widgets
  • SEO title and meta description
  • Custom fields and ACF
  • Image file names and alt text

New image file names and the alt text of copied images need image processing, available on Extended. Alt text you type into the template is filled on every plan.

Questions about templates

Which page builders does it work with?

LPagery copies the template's content and all of its custom fields, which is where page builders store their layouts, and fills the placeholders in them. Elementor, Divi 4 and 5, Bricks, Breakdance, Brizy, Visual Composer, SeedProd, BeBuilder and Colibri get dedicated handling for the way each one stores its layout and CSS. We also test with Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Gutenberg and the classic editor.

How do I write a placeholder?

A placeholder is a column name from your source file in curly braces, so a column called city becomes {city}. Upper and lower case don't matter, and the same placeholder can appear as often as you like.

What happens to existing pages when I change the template?

In Classic Mode, the default, every page keeps its own copy of the design. After you save the template, you can open the Update screen and choose Update Look & Static Content to apply the change to all pages created from it. In Live Mode (beta), pages are built from the template each time they're opened, so the change shows straight away. Live Mode works with templates built in Elementor, Gutenberg or the classic editor.

Can I use a post or a custom post type as the template?

Yes. Pages and posts work in every version, and the generated pages get the same post type as the template. To use a custom post type, turn it on under Custom post types in LPagery's settings, which needs Extended.

Can I move a page set to a different template later?

Yes. In Manage, open the page set's menu and choose Reassign Template, then pick a template of the same post type. Run Update Look & Static Content afterwards to apply its design to the pages.

Can the wording differ between pages too?

Yes, with Spintax. Write alternatives in curly braces separated by a pipe, like {fast|same-day|reliable}, and LPagery picks one of them for each page. You can turn it on in LPagery's settings with Extended.

Which plan do I need?

Template pages with placeholders work in every version, including the free plugin, which fills up to 3 placeholder columns. In the free plugin the page title also becomes the URL, so it needs at least one placeholder. Standard removes the column limit and adds the URL Slug field. Update Look & Static Content, Live Mode, Reassign Template, the lpagery_template column, Spintax and custom post types need Extended.
